![]() ![]() So, it was a show with very low expectations that has now changed to one where I’m deeply curious of the actual application there will be for the added themes. I really love shows that make you reconsider the elements before, and the questions added by the last-minute transformation make it extra endearing. I won’t spoil, but it’s really striking once the true visuals strike, and the entire episode has to be reconsidered for context. It’s a cute and somewhat endearing first episode if you consider it a slice of life stand-alone, but then the ending comes… So unexpectedly, I kept my expectations low beyond noting it was nice that it had a clearly better animation budget than normal for this manner of show, and it had some notable oddities that might be endearing later on such as the dog and the shovel the twin-tailed friend always carries. By appearances, the show’s first episode-barring the ending-resembles much of the typical anime formula that relies on four girls and a school club. I went into the first episode blind, and, by the end, I was very glad for it. Gakkou Gurashi! or School-Live! should be best enjoyed without any outside knowledge. So, really, there’s not much to say but partake if you find this kind of service attractive. My only takeaway from the first episode would be that the two youngest siblings are the least stereotypical of the bunch, and it seems the show focuses more on them bringing energy to the scenes. In short, you’re dealing with the cute sibling and/or incest fantasy that’s quite tame overall (thus far at least). Picture a single male brother and add two inseparable loli sisters, a tsundere middle school age sister, and a response high school onii-sama, and you’ve got the main idea of the show. Just making a quick post here for my late Sunday evening crowd… DanchigaiĪs another entry into the three-minute run-time category, there won’t be a lot to say here.
